Olivia Huffstetter (MA in Art History) recently defended her dissertation, titled “Feminist Pedagogy, Action Research, and Social Media: TabloidArtHistory's Influence on Visual Culture Education." She is currently a PhD student in Arts Administration at The Ohio State University, and will graduate this spring. Congratulations Dr. Huffstetter!

The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition’s Momentum annually features Oklahoma artists ages 30 years and younger, working in diverse media. The exhibition presents a diversified look at young artistic talent in Oklahoma.
Momentum 2021 is changing to a longer exhibition format, to allow time and space for smaller groups of people to see the artwork over the course of two months.

March 3-27, 2021: Momentum at MAINSITE Contemporary Art Gallery in Norman, OK

April 2-23, 2021: Momentum at Living Arts in Tulsa, OK

Recent MFA graduate Do Kim wins Gold Award in Graphis New Talent 2021

Graphis is one of the world’s most prestigious annuals that showcase award winning works in Design, Advertising, Photography, and Film/Video. This year’s winner on New Talent Annual includes 20 Platinum, 147 Gold, and 398 Silver awards. The Judges include established professionals, including Carolyn Hadlock (Young & Laramore), Carmit Haller (Carmit Design Studio), Boris Ljubicic (STUDIO INTERNATIONAL), Youhei Ogawa (OGAWAYOUHEI DESIGN), Sasha Vidakovic (SVIDesign), Craig Cutler (Craig Cutler Studio), Stan Musilek (Musilek Photography).

Do Kim, our recent MFA graduate in Graphic Design won Gold in Film/Video category for his work entitled Unfinished Story. The Graphis New Talent 2021 will be published in May 2021. Do Kim is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at Delta State University.


Oklahoma Art Education Association has announced it's 2020 award winners. 2 OSU alumni were honored.

Brian Payne, Master of Science in Teaching, Learning and Leadership in 2008 from OSU, is currently teaching at Yukon High School and was awarded the OAEA Art Educator of the Year.

Morgan Brown, BA in Studio Art, is currently teaching at Jenks and was awarded the OAEA Middle Level Art Educator of the Year.

Oklahoma State University BFA Alumni Rachel Marks is an American artist and performer living and working in Paris, France. 
BFA from Oklahoma State University, Rachel moved to Paris in 2010 to study at the l’Ecole Supérieure d’Art et Design of Grenoble France, where she received an MFA in 2013.

OSU Alumna Lora Webb was in Italy during the recent Coronavirus lockdown working on her Stanford Ph.D. She spoke with OSU about her experience and published a letter in the Oklahoman urging her home state to shut down to save lives
