1958 OSU Alumni Carson (Bob) Scott

Carson (Bob) Scott presents a print of Frank Eaton's Blacksmithing Studio to President and Mrs. Hargis.

Carson "Bob" Scott was a student in the Art Department in 1958 when he had the opportunity to travel with 10 of his classmates in Doel Reed's class to visit Frank Eaton's (Pistol Pete) blacksmith shop in Perkins, OK where they sketched on site, and then returned to OSU and made a zinc plate that was used to create this limited print. This print is one of 29 pulled from the plate and was used by Professor Mark Sisson to teach current OSU students the art of printmaking 53 years later. Mr. Scott a former Cal State Long Beach Art faculty member is now retired and lives in Palm Springs, California.

Mr. Scott has generously donated the use of his 1958 printing plate, framing costs and scholarships to the four students who printed the 29 images that are available. Those interested in purchasing a limited print and/or providing a gift to support the scholarship can call Dr. Solomon at (405) 385-5156 or Email: bsolomon@osugiving.com. The cost of each print is $1295 and checks can be made payable to the Foundation at 400 S. Monroe Stillwater, OK 74074. Your donations are tax deductible.
