July 15 – August 28, 2018
This exhibition presents a selection of drawings and prints by OSU students from the 1940s through the 1960s. These beautiful works of art include drawings, watercolors, and prints displaying a variety of subjects, both representational and abstract. The majority of the images in the collection were produced in classes taught by the well-known Oklahoma artists and faculty members Doel Reed (1924 - 1958), Ella Jack (1928 - 1958), J. Jay McVicker (1959 –1977) Jack, Reed and McVicker all incorporated trends in modern art, from surrealism to abstract expressionism, into their own work and into their teaching.
