The Visual Resources Library is a teaching resource created and funded by the Department of Art as a support facility for faculty teaching art and art history classes. Limited use by non-department faculty, staff, students, and local teachers and residents is permitted with special permission from the Curator.
The Visual Resources Collections include a slide collection of approximately 100,000 slides representing the history of art, video tapes, CDs, books, and periodicals housed in the Rena Penn Brittain Reading Room.
The Visual Resources Library is staffed by the Curator and two part-time student
assistants. Our Curator,
Leisha O'Quinn, joined our staff in August 2003. She
holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History. Leisha is
working on completing her Master's in Art History from
the University of Oklahoma with an emphasis in Medieval
Irish art. In addition to administering the VRL, Leisha
teaches Introduction to Art.
Visual Resources Internships for college credit are available through individual
Art History Faculty members and the Curator. Non-Art students should consult
with the Curator and their academic advisor regarding credit for internships.
Non-credit internships and volunteerships are available by application to the
Curator and are not limited to art students. Those in the humanities are especially
encouraged to apply. Contact Leisha O'Quinn at (405)744-6017 for additional
information.
