Tour de Quartz

Carolina Low, Self Portrait, Acrylics, 2010, Oklahoma Summer Art Institute

Tour de Quartz is a selection of artwork created by Oklahoma high school students during the 2010 Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain (OSAI). During their two-week residency at Quartz Mountain, students are immersed in one of nine artistic fields and taught by world-renowned artists. The painting portion of the exhibition represents a variety of projects undertaken by the drawing/painting students during OSAI. This exhibition is organized for touring by OSAI.

Jenny Rogers "Perfect Surf"

Her works often play within the realm of film & photographic history, toying with the common currency of popular culture, our shared literacy & our fascination with mythic representation. For "Perfect Surf" Rogers was granted a prestigious Independent Artist Award in Film & Media by the New York State Council for the Arts.


 

"Full Circle: The Evolution of Fine Art Printmaking at ULAE"

A collection of fine art prints featuring work by Lee Bontecou, James Rosenquist, and Amy Cutler. From hand rendered, traditionally crafted prints to digitally created images utilizing the best of commercial printmaking techniques and back again.

Roger Shimomura "Minidoka on my Mind"

The show's title refers to Camp Minidoka in Hunt, Idaho where Shimomura and his family were detained from the spring of 1942 until the summer of 1944. The exhibition will explore the artist's family's internment during World War II, these "images are scraped from the linings of my mind—not necessarily what I remembered specifically, but what I respond with when I think of Camp Minidoka..."
