Graduate Student Wins Scholarship for Conference Participation

Rinard

Art history Masters student Michelle Rinard has received a scholarship towards participation in the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA) Annual Conference, to be held at the University of California, Riverside, October 21-November 2, 2014. Rinard will present her paper entitled “The Art of Film in the New Hollywood: John Frankenheimer’s 1966 Seconds.” Rinard is a second-year student in the MA program. She is writing a thesis on the uses of art in New Hollywood cinema.

This exhibition presents the work of students graduating in May 2014 with their BFA degrees in studio art. Works on view feature painting, drawing, metalwork, and sculpture, and represent our student artists' achievements obtained through their rigorous course of study at OSU. Mentored by faculty, students demonstrate their command of artistic techniques as well as critical thinking, communication skills and professional exhibition practices.
