In Feb – May 2019, Associate Professor Shaoqian Zhang was a visiting professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China, where she taught one art history seminar on East and West artistic and cultural exchange. During this time, she delivered one public lecture at the 798 art zone, titled “Immortal Image and Mortal Body: Chinese Political Portraits at Their Crossroad in the Early Twentieth Century.” She also participated in the conference at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, “Revolution and Art - Commemorating the Centennial Birthday of Gu Yuan.” Her paper was titled: “Traversing the media · Re-shaping the theme: Gu Yuan’s Watercolor Paintings in the 1950s-60s.”
