Priscilla Schwarz received her B.A. from Barnard College of Columbia University with a double major in Art History and English. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. from Rutgers University with a major in Modern and a minor in Italian Renaissance.  Her area of specialization is nineteenth-century French art and her dissertation is titled “Manet’s Depictions of Women in Cafes:  The Ambiguity of Reality in Modern Parisian Life”.  She has presented numerous conference papers, museum lectures, and guest lectures on nineteenth- and twentieth-century art topics.  She came to OSU in 1995 and since then has taught Introduction to Art, Italian Renaissance Art, Baroque Art, Nineteenth-century Art, Twentieth-Century Art, as well as Humanities for the Honor’s College.  Her husband, Amit Ghosh (Professor of Mathematics, OSU) and she have two children.
